Students Sought for County Youth Conservation Corps

High school and college-age students can make $8.50 an hour maintaining county open spaces.

The Middlesex County Youth Conservation Corps seeks students ages 16 and older to assist in maintenance of more than 7,000 acres of Middlesex County open space. 

Conservation Corps make $8.50 per hour working Monday through Friday between June 24 and August 23, according to a press release from the Middlesex County office of Economic and Business Development.

Conservation corps perform litter clean-up, trail building, invasive species removal and improvements to wildlife habitats, according to the release.

The majority of the work will be done in open spaces in Old Bridge, Monroe and South Brunswick, according to the release.

All applicants must be able to walk several miles and stand for extended periods of time outdoors in varying weather conditions, according to the release. Ideal candidates should also be self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to work as a team.
