Thunderstorm Watch Issued for Middlesex

The National Weather Service has announced a severe thunderstorm watch for several areas throughout the state, including Middlesex County.

According to the weather service, at 6:42 p.m., radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a line extending from seven miles northeast of Allentown to 13 miles southeast of Reading to 19 miles south of Lancaster, moving east at 35 mph.

Expect very heavy rainfall with water ponding on roads. The storms could produce large hail and and wind gusts of up to 60 mph and lightning
