UPDATED: Branches and Trees Posing a danger, Roads are Treacherous

The National Weather Service is warning that between 4 and 8 inches of snow could hit the area today.

Rain, sleet, snow and ice and falling tree limbs are making for dangerous driving conditions.

The National Weather Service is predicting between 4 to 8 inches of heavy wet snow today and the combination is making main roads difficult to navigate and is causing havoc on trees, many of which are buckling under the weight. Riva Avenue was closed at around 2 p.m. because of falling branches, and low-hanging limbs are hanging even lower, causing obstructions for drivers as they pass under.

Mayor David Stahl said via Twitter that the township has sent out salt spreaders, snow plows and tree crews to help.
