Blood Drive and Bone Marrow Screening

Tri-Synagogue Blood Drive Jan
26

The EBJC Social Action Committee and Men's Club, in conjunction with Young
Israel of East Brunswick and B'nai Shalom, will be hosting a blood drive at
EBJC on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The drive will be
conducted by New Jersey Blood Services. Giving blood literally saves lives and
if you need it, there is no substitute.  To sign up for a specific time,
please go to: www.ebjc.org/blooddrive. While walk-ins are welcome, sign
up appointments will be given priority.    Donors must be in
good health and free of cold symptoms. To get more information and a few
restrictions, please email blooddrive@ebjc.org,
howard_jacobs20@yahoo.com or
call NJ Blood Services at 800 933-2566.

Also in conjunction with this blood drive, we will be offering a bone marrow
screening (a simple cheek swab) run by Smiles4Shira.  Smiles4Shira is a
non-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring bone marrow donor drives across
America through social media and grassroots efforts that has facilitated the
swabbing of over 11,000 potential donors and raised over $150,000 for donor
kits.

Across the country, 70 patients have found a bone marrow match because of
Smiles4Shira efforts.

Please support both of these life saving causes!
