Community Corner

Mitzvah Day

Please join us on December 25, from 10am-2pm, for Mitzvah Day at Temple B’nai Shalom to give back to our community. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families to come together to volunteer time and energy in the spirit of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world). Mitzvah Day is our chance to give back, one good deed at a time.

We will be packaging baked goods and delivering them to local hospitals, fire departments, rescue squads and police stations. These men and women work tirelessly to ensure our safety and we would like to express our appreciation.

Whether you are a baker or a buyer, we need you! Preferred baked goods include: brownies, cookies, cupcakes, rice krispytreats, candy and anything else that is easy to divide andwonderful to eat.  If you are not a baker or candy maker, consider picking up some sweet treats from the grocer and donating them. Purchasing decorative cookie tins would be quite useful as well.

Please bring baked goods and/or tins to the Temple social hallwhere we will meet to assemble care packages.  Helpers of all ages are welcome to attend.

We are looking forward to a great day!  Thank you for planning to spend some time with us and for helping to make someone else’s day a little bit sweeter.
