Join the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission for Moth Night.
White sheets and mercury vapor lights will be set up in the
woods and trees brushed with a sweet, fermented moth bait to attract moths for
observation. Parents are invited to bring children to learn about moths and
their importance to the ecosystem.
There are hundreds of thousands of moth species around the
world, many just as colorful and dazzling as their butterfly cousins. Moths are among the most diverse and
successful organisms on earth. While they are best known as nocturnal insects,
many fly during the day.
