American Boychoir to Perform in East Brunswick

East Brunswick Public Library to host performance by renowned group on Dec. 8.

Celebrate the rich 75-year history of America’s premier concert boys’ choir, the American Boychoir, during a free performance at the East Brunswick Public Library.

The choir will perform on Dec. 8, at 2 p.m. Free tickets are being distributed at the Circulation Desk now. Ticket holders will be admitted from 1:15–1:50 p.m. on Dec. 8. Any unclaimed seats will be available for general admission after 1:50 p.m.

The Boychoir has long been recognized as one of the finest professional musical ensembles in the country. Among the choir’s credits are appearances with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the New York Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. They’ve produced more than 45 recordings, to critical acclaim, and provided the vocals for the Kodak commercial, True Colors.

This concert is co-sponsored by the East Brunswick Arts Commission and The Friends of The Library.

The following is from the East Brunswick Public Library website. The American Boychoir School has cancelled their appearance at The Library. In its place, The Library will honor boychoir tickets for a performance by Impulse Bell Choir, performing holiday favorites and other selections. 12/08/2013 02:00PM - 03:00PM Impulse is an independent, auditioned bell choir composed of talented New Jersey teens, led by choral director Ryan Guth of Marlboro. The ensemble has garnered national attention and recognition on The Today Show. With the help of BuzzFeed.com, Impulse produced a video performance of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" that instantly went viral. They've been invited to perform at the national convention for the Handbell Musicians of America and have been described as "bringing the WOW factor to handbell playing." Their most recent accolade: on the basis of a video submission, they have been invited to audition for America's Got Talent. All the tickets for this concert have been distributed. Ticket-holders must arrive by 1:50 to guarantee seats.
