Help Less Fortunate Prepare for Winter in East Brunswick

Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools students to assist with a winter coat drive.

Middlesex County Vocational and Technical Schools students once again will assist with a winter coat drive being conducted in East Brunswick and South River.

Students in the dry cleaning program in the School of Career Development on the MCVTS East Brunswick Campus will clean and prepare donated coats before they are passed on to people in the community who need them. Last year, when MCVTS students also did the dry cleaning, about 500 coats were collected.

New or like-new winter coats – excluding leather and suede -- will be collected from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19 at four locations: the East Brunswick Township offices, 1 Jean Walling Civic Center Drive, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; East Brunswick Recreation and Parks Department, 350 Dunhams Corner Road, Monday  to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Alternative Integrated Medical Services, 150A Tices Lane, East Brunswick, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon; and the South River Administration Building, 48 Washington St., Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

MCVTS students and staff can drop off coats at the East Brunswick Campus, 112 Rues Lane.

Distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 7 at Sts. Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church Hall, 9 Jeffrie Ave., South River.
