Harvie's Inferno: Eight Seasons and a Movie

Harvie's Inferno:The Devilsaholic gets excited about Zajac's long-term deal!

So, maybe he isn’t getting a movie deal, but the Devils signed Travis Zajac to an eight-year deal.

Rich Chere of nj.com reported that the deal includes a no-trade clause. Chere’s article also stated, “He will be paid $3.5 million this season, $5 million next season and $6.5 million in each of the following four years. The final two seasons on the contract will pay him $5.75 million per year.”

Zajac has played 423 games for the Devils scoring 91 goals and tallying 164 assists for a total 255 points. Those are impressive numbers that I can only imagine will continue to increase in coming seasons. He scored two goals and four assists in 15 games last season, which was cut short by an Achilles injury. Zajac was a tremendous force for the Devils through the playoffs last season and will be a key to keeping the team in competition for Lord Stanley’s Cup. A force in the faceoff circle and a key playmaker, Zajac’s contributions to the team are undeniable.

It is nice to know that the Devils will have center ice covered for the foreseeable future.

Let’s Go Devils!
