Supplies are Low at Township Food Pantry

Donations to the food pantry are always welcome.

School supplies and what to bring for lunch aren’t the only things people need these days.

At the township’s food pantry, donations of a variety of items are needed.

Supplies at the pantry are light right now, with much of what was collected during a summer food drive being given out almost as soon as it was brought in. The pantry serves about a dozen families every month, but that number is expected to increase as the holidays approach.

The items most needed are peanut butter, jelly, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, pasta and sauce, canned fruits, vegetables, soups, paper products, shampoo, toiletries, toothpaste and soap.  With back to school around the corner, the pantry also could use cereal, snack bars, snack pack fruits, etc.

Gift cards are always welcome as well, which will help families buy perishable items that the township can’t accept.
