Former East Brunswick Mayor Jack Sinagra Dies at 63

He died on Monday. The cause of his death wasn't clear.

Former East Brunswick Mayor, New Jersey State Senator and Port Authority of New Jersey and New York Chairman Jack Sinagra is dead at the age of 63, nj.com reports.

He was also the president of Turtle & Hughes Inc., whose CEO confirmed the news to nj.com.

Sinagra died Monday morning, but the cause is unknown, according to the report. He was living in New York City.

Sinagra was a moderate Republican who was served three terms as a State Senator, and retired in 2001, according to the report. As a senator, he chaired the Senate Health Committee. He was the Mayor of East Brunswick from 1989-1991, according to the report.

In 2002, he was appointed chair of the Port Authority of New Jersey and New York. He served in that post for 10 years, according to the report.
