Obit: Lydia Dragan

Dragan, 82, died peacefully on Nov. 16.

Lydia Dragan, 82, of Lebanon, Tennessee, formerly of South River, New Jersey, peacefully died Saturday, Nov 16, 2013, surrounded by family, at Summit Hospital in Hermitage, TN.

Born Dec 24, 1930, in St Clair, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eva Verbitski. She was the loving wife of Peter Dragan, her husband of 52 years until his death in 2002. She was a homemaker and later worked as a school crossing guard in South River, NJ for over ten years. She was an active member of the First Russian Baptist Church of South River for 61 years until she moved to Tennessee in 2011.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling with her husband during their retirement. Surviving are son and daughter-in-law William and Valentina Dragan of Marriottsville, Maryland; a daughter and son-in-law Lois (Dragan) and Al Camisa of Lebanon, Tennessee; a son and daughter-in-law Donald and Lydia Dragan of Lebanon, Tennessee; grandchildren and their spouses Leslie (Dragan) and Andrew Peoples of Cincinnati, Ohio; Andrea (Dragan) and Peter Sooy of Silver Spring, Maryland; and Brandon and Jami Dragan of Lebanon, Tennessee; and great grandchildren Natalie and Brooklyn Dragan of Lebanon, Tennessee. She is survived by sisters Jane Shiloh, Irene Kester, and Florence Herbert. She was predeceased by brothers Benjamin Verbitski, Joseph Verbitski, Stephen Verbitski, Alexander Verbitski, and John Verbitski.

A viewing will be held at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev Victor Razumov officiating.
