Obituary: Doris Stephens

Stephens worked in the cafeterias of Central School and Warnsdorfer School before her retirement.

Doris J. Gruneisen Stephens died Wednesday, April 24, 2012 at home. She was 87.

Born in Plainfield, she resided in East Brunswick for the past several years.

Prior to her retirement several years ago, she was a cafeteria worker for 20 years for the East Brunswick Board of Education at Central School and later Warnsdorfer School.

She was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, East Brunswick.

She was predeceased by her husband, William in 2012, and by a daughter, Carol Mishak last week.

Surviving are two sons, David and his wife Laura Stephens of Kendall Park, Bruce and his wife Pam Stephens of Oklahoma City, OK; a daughter, Susan and her husband Carl Sencer of Lake Worth, FL; a son in law, Michael Mishak of Spotswood; six grandchildren, Mark, William, Michele, Hope, Cody and Taylor; and three great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

A joint memorial service for Doris and Carol will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, East Brunswick. Cremation was private.
