Obituary: Giuseppe Sodano

Giuseppe Sodano worked as a machine tender for Sunshine Biscuit in Sayreville for 35 years.

Giuseppe Sodano died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was 78.

Born in Naples, Italy, he came to the United States in 1960, settling in New York, before moving to Old Bridge 52 years ago.

Prior to his retirement 15 years ago, he was a machine tender for Sunshine Biscuit in Sayreville for 35 years.

He was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, Old Bridge.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carmela Minichino Sodano in 2010.

Surviving are two sons, Alfonso and his wife Sandy of Jackson, and Anthony of Staten Island, NY; two daughters, Annamarie and her husband Mark Swiatkowski of East Brunswick and Josephine Sodano and her partner Leandra of Monroe Township; four brothers, Salvatore of Old Bridge, Vincent of Maspeth, NY, Antonio of Naples, Italy, and Connie of Naples, Italy; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 10:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
