OBITUARY: Irene Horvath Olcsvay

Irene Horvath Olcsvay Died Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson.

Irene Horvath Olcsvay, 93, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. 

Born in New Brunswick, she resided in South River before moving to East Brunswick 45 years ago.

Prior to her retirement in the 1980s, she worked in the school cafeteria for the East Brunswick Board of Education for 15 years.

She was a former member of the East Brunswick Seniors, and was a long time communicant of St. Stephen Protomartyr R.C. Church, South River.

She was predeceased by her husband, Louis in 1990, and by a son, Louis in 1996.

Surviving are two daughters, Ethel Olcsvay of East Brunswick and Barbara Bigler of Denton, Texas; a sister, Rose Hunt of Opelika, Alabama; four grandchildren, Bobby, Jennifer, Louis and Holly; and four great grandchildren, Jason, Jiannah, Justin and Michael.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Dec. 27, at 8 a.m. in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stephen’s Church, South River.  Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, New Brunswick.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. For information, directions or to send condolences to family, visit www.rezemfh.com.
