OBITUARY: Koon Fong Hom

Koon Fong Hom died at the Bayshore Community Hospital.

Koon Fong Hom, 92, died Wednesday, July 25, at Bayshore Community Hospital, Holmdel. 

Born in Canton, China, he came to the United States in 1936, settling in South River, where he remained for the rest of his life. Prior to his retirement 20 years ago, he was the owner of Hom’s Laundry on Main Street in South River for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Yue Yee Hom in 2006, and by a son, Sue Pon Wong in 1990.

Surviving are a daughter in law, Sew Fung Wong of East Brunswick; four grandchildren, Gee Ming Wong, Tom Wing Wong, Wilson Hom Wong, and Sherry Gorrie; and five great grandchildren, Jolene, Kira, Nikki, Melanie and Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the , 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.  Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery, South River.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. For information, directions or to send condolences to family, visit www.rezemfh.com
