Obituary: Michael Galdo

This Spotswood man was a former city planner for the city of Newark, a volunteer at Raritan Bay Medical Center, and a real estate broker.

Michael R. Galdo died Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Morris View Nursing Home, Morris Township.  He was 69.

Born in Newark, he resided in Spotswood for many years.

Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was a real estate broker for Sholom & Zuckerbrot in East Rutherford for 15 years, and had been a city planner for the City of Newark.

He was a volunteer for Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge, and had served as a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1967-1969.

He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Spotswood, where he served as an usher.

Surviving are a daughter, Carla Liquori-Cirillo and her husband Joseph of Gladstone; two brothers, Ralph Galdo of Norfolk, VA and Daniel Galdo of Lodi; two sisters, Carol Crossman of Indiana and Rose Lubrano of Spotswood a; a granddaughter, Jessica Marie; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood.

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.

Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.
