Obituary: Richard Potts

Potts was a polymer chemist for 25 years with Johnson & Johnson and then the owner of Labs, Inc. in Princeton for nine years.

Richard M. Potts died Wednesday, August 07, 2013 at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, New Brunswick. He was 84.

Born in Galesburg, IL, he resided in Highland Park before moving to East Brunswick in 1955.

He was a graduate of Knox College, and received his PhD from the University of Illinois.

He was a polymer chemist for 25 years for Johnson & Johnson, North Brunswick before retiring in 1984. After his retirement, he was the owner of Labs, Inc. in Princeton for nine years.

He was an Eagle Scout, he enjoyed bowling and sailing, and was a member of the Keyport Yacht Club.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Risburg Potts; a son, William M. of East Brunswick; a daughter, Susan E. Nagy of Westampton; and four grandsons, Christopher, Benjamin, Michael and Jeffrey.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
