Obituary: William P. Dunnigan

Calling hours will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and a funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Rezem Funeral Home.

William P. Dunnigan died Saturday, March 09, 2013 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. He was 78.

Born in the Bronx, NY, he resided in Old Bridge since 1964.

Prior to his retirement 13 years ago, he was a manager for Equitable Insurance Company, New York, NY for 35 years.

He served in the US Navy during Peacetime.

He was a communicant of St. Ambrose RC Church, Old Bridge, and was a member of both the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh and the St. Thomas Knights of Columbus in Old Bridge.

He was predeceased by a brother, Bernard Patrick Dunnigan, and a sister, Mary Esposito.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine Duffy Dunnigan; two sons, William and his wife Virginia Dunnigan Jr. of Old Bridge, and Stephen Dunnigan of Old Bridge; two daughters, Geraldine and her husband Thomas Taylor of Richmond, VA and Joanne Dunnigan of Red Bank; seven grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas, Jean Marie, Justine, David, Timothy and Kelsey; five great grandchildren, Rebecca, Margaret, Kylee, Cole and Jack; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Rezem Funeral Home, 457 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church, Old Bridge. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park, South Brunswick.
