The proposed construction of an expandable cell tower monopole at107 Dunhams Corner Road drew approximately 60 residents from the surrounding area to a tense meeting at Town Hall in East Brunswick, according to the publication.
Representatives and expert witnesses for Verizon Wireless testified in support of the use and bulk variances sought to build the 120-foot tower between Willis Court and Timber Road at an April 28 zoning board meeting, according to the publication.
The tower would allow Verizon to “fill the gap” in coverage between Ryders Lane and Cranbury Road, and the residential areas north and south of Dunhams Corner Road, according to David Stern, a radio frequency engineer who testified on behalf of Verizon Wireless, according to the publication.
