An accident on northbound NJ Turnpike just north of Exit 9 has been cleared.
Earlier this evening, the NJ Turnpike website reported an accident with injuries on the inner roadway northbound, just north of Exit 9.
New Brunswick Fire Director Robert Rawls said a car was believed to have been traveling up the shoulder of the northbound side of the Turnpike at a fast speed when it struck the back of a pickup truck, causing both cars to erupt into flames.
Rawls said three people are reported to be injured at this time, a passenger with burns and two others with lacerations suffered in the crash.
