Autistic Woman Found After Wandering From Home

The 21-year-old woman was found in a nearby, unoccupied apartment.

A 21-year-old autistic woman was found in an unoccupied apartment close to where she lives home after she wandered away from her home Sunday afternoon.

East Brunswick Police and East Brunswick Independent Fire Company  District 2 located the woman after her mother called police at approximately 1:30 p.m. to report that the girl had walked away from their apartment.

Police and fire officials responded to the area and began to search.  After approximately one hour Patrolman Chris Farrace found the missing female in an unoccupied apartment, which she had mistakenly entered when she found an open door.

The missing female’s mother arrived at the apartment and was able to take her home without further incident.
