Bear Cub Sighting In East Brunswick; Animal Eating Out Of Garbage Cans

A bear cub was sighted Monday on Fresh Ponds Road near Church Lane in East Brunswick, police said.

The bear cub was seen eating out of residential garbage cans, police said.

Residents were told to secure all garbage inside if possible.

Also, residents were told to not approach the cub because it probably means that the mother is nearby.

The bear may be threatened by someone approaching cub and mother could act aggressively to protect her cub. If sighted, please call police immediately.
