Cops: Man Entered Woman's Apartment by Accident After Drinking

Police said male got confused and entered Taylor Avenue apartment by mistake after he had been drinking.

An incident early Wednesday morning where a township woman found an unknown male standing in her kitchen appears to have been the result of an accident, and alcohol, according to police.

At about 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, East Brunswick Police responded to the Taylor Avenue Apartments after a female resident awoke to find an unknown male standing in her kitchen. The woman screamed at the man and he then fled from the apartment.

Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The woman said she accidently left her back door unlocked, which police believe  the suspect used to gain entry into the residence.

On Thursday, the suspect went to police headquarters to speak with detectives after seeing a report of the incident. Police said the man got confused after drinking and had accidentally entered the wrong apartment.

The man was not charged for the incident at this time, according to police.
