Frost School Helping Kingswood Fire Victims

The Frost PTA is looking for donations to help the Matta family and their neighbors.

The PTA at is seeking donations to help the Matta family and their neighbors who lost their Cypress Lane homes Wednesday morning to a fire.

The PTA is accepting donations of food, clothing, appliances, furniture and cash or gift cards to local stores.

According to Capt. Ron Sommer of , the initial alarm came in at about 7:50 a.m. and the fire was under control in an hour to an hour and a half. Capt.  Sommer said the main unit had most of the fire damage, with the entire second story of unit 2600 suffering damage. Of the eight units in the building, four were damaged by fire, two have minor water damage and two have minor smoke and water damage.

Donations are being accepted at the Frost school between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. The school is located at 65 Frost Ave., East Brunswick, N.J. 08816. If you have something large you would like to donate, contact the PTA at frostpta@frostpta.org  to arrange a drop off location.

A PTA representative will be visiting the school regularly to pick up donations until they can be given to the fire victims.  Monetary donations can be made via cash, gift cards, or by check payable to Frost PTA.
