Girl Scout Cookie Thief Nabbed

Piscataway man admits to theft after being identified by Milltown police officer.

A Piscataway man admitted today (Tuesday) that he stole money from a group of Girl Scouts who were selling cookies in front of the Walgreens Pharmacy on Ryders Lane on Jan. 29.

According to police, Jeffrey Teal Jr. admitted to the theft during an interview with East Brunswick police officers Detective John Breen and Detective Sgt. Eric Raps. Police were lead to Teal after Milltown Police Officer James Mioduszewski had seen published reports of the theft and believed that a photo running with those stories to be Teal. Officer Mioduszewski had recent dealt with Teal on an unrelated incident.

According to police, the suspect, who had been standing outside of Walgreens, approached a Girl Scout cookie stand and stole an undetermined amount of money from a cash box the girls had been using.  While the suspect ran away on Ryders lane, one of the scouts took a picture of him before the theft (see photo).
