Man Charged With Lewdness While on a Bus to NYC

Errinson Medrano was seen by undercover State Police officers committing an lewd act while on his way to New York City.

Errinson Medrano, 33, of North Brunswick, was charged with stalking, harassment and lewdness after undercover State Police officers saw him committing lewd acts on a bus that was traveling to New York City.

The New Jersey State Police announced Wednesday that Medrano was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 11, after an undercover operation was initiated.

According to a press release from the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, a female victim was on board a bus and reported an act of lewdness in the fall of 2011. The suspect was never identified.

On Thursday, Sept. 9, 2012, the same victim was on board a bus traveling from Rutgers University to New York City and observed this same suspect committing lewd acts again.  She contacted detectives who set up surveillance in an attempt to catch the suspect.

According to the Attorney General’s office, on Tuesday at approximately 9:30 p.m., undercover detectives observed Medrano committing lewd acts on the bus and immediately arrested him.  He was taken off the bus at the side of the road and taken by troop car to the Cranbury State Police Station on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Medrano was charged with stalking, harassment, and lewdness, and lodged in the Middlesex County jail in default of $20,000 bail.

After he was arrested and identified, detectives learned that in 2007, troopers from the same station arrested Medrano for lewd acts on another bus traveling the same route to New York City.

Anyone with information that could assist this investigation is asked to contact detectives at 609-860-9000.

Charges are merely accusations and the suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
