Man Wanted in Connection to Assault and Robbery

Police are looking for a man who hit a 22-year-old woman in the face after he was invited to her home by her roommate, and after he was confronted about the theft of jewelry.

Police are looking for a man who hit a 22-year-old woman in the face after he was invited to her home by her roommate, and after he was confronted about the theft of jewelry.

On at 3:28 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 7, East Brunswick Police Units responded to a residence on River Road after receiving a report of a “strong arm robbery.” 

Police said the victim told them that several individuals had been invited over to the house by one of her roommates. The victim said she eventually noticed that some of the individuals had entered her bedroom.  She entered her bedroom and noticed that some jewelry was missing, according to police.

When she confronted one of the individuals he struck her in the face, knocking her onto the floor.  She got up and was punched several more times causing injuries to her face and head.  The individuals then fled the residence, police said.

The victim was treated on scene by the East Brunswick Rescue Squad.  She refused any further medical attention.

The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s with a thin build.  He fled the residence in a black four -door Toyota.  Anyone having information or can identify the suspect please contact Det.
