Police Investigate String of Car Fires In Middlesex County

The fires are considered suspicious in nature and deliberately set. Beginning on July 7, there have been six vehicles fires with the two most recent occurring this morning.

Police detectives are actively investigating a string of vehicle fires which have occurred in Middlesex County in the last two weeks.

The fires are considered suspicious in nature and deliberately set. Beginning on July 7, there have been six vehicles fires with the two most recent occurring this morning.

The fires have occurred on Louis Street, Livingston Avenue, Commercial Avenue, Class Place, Remsen Avenue and Jersey Avenue in New Brunswick. The majority of the fires have occurred during the early morning hours.

The New Brunswick Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding these vehicle fires to call Detective Dave Smith at (732) 745-5217 or New Brunswick Police Communications at (732) 745-5200.
