No Bomb Found After Vo-Tech Evacuated

The Middlesex County Vocational and Technical School was searched Tuesday morning after it received a bomb threat. No bomb was found.

on Rues Lane was evacuated at just before 10 a.m. today after a student reported a “bomb threat” he observed in the bathroom.

According to police, school officials were notified of the possible threat at approximately 9:45 a.m. and Detective Sgt. Alves of the East Brunswick Police Department, who was working security detail at the school, quickly alerted police headquarters. Numerous police units, the , Trans Med Ambulance Service, and East Brunswick Office of Emergency Management responded to the scene.

The New Jersey State Police K-9 bomb units conducted an extensive search of the inside and outside of the school and found nothing. The building was rendered safe and the students and faculty were allowed to return at approximately 1 p.m.

Three students were treated by Trans Med Ambulance Service and the Robert Wood Johnson University Paramedics with non-life threatening conditions.  Two were transported to Old Bridge Regional Hospital and one was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for precautionary measures.
