Route 18 Gas Station Robbed

Exxon Mobile at Route 18 and Rues Lane robbed after midnight Thursday.

The Exxon Mobile at the intersection of Route 18 and Rues Lane was robbed just after midnight today, according to the East Brunswick Police Department. 

According to the department, the suspect was described as a "slender black male," around 6 feet tall and wearing black pants, a black jacket with a hood and a black mask.

Police said the suspect reportedly pointed a black handgun at the station attendant and demanded money and cigarettes. After receiving the cigarettes and an undetermined amount of money, the suspect ran away toward southbound Route 18.

The attendant was not harmed during the incident, according to police.
