Search for Missing Boater to Resume

Emergency workers searched last night for a man reported missing on Farrington Lake.

Police are still seeking a California man who was reported missing on Farrington Lake at 7:34 p.m. Saturday.

According to police,  an Agate Road resident reported that their cousin, who was visiting from California, had taken out their canoe at approximately 12 p.m. Saturday not returned.

East Brunswick Police and Fire Districts 1, 2, and 3 conducted an initial search of the area for the missing boater. Unable to locate the boater from the shore line and fire boats, the Somerset County Dive Team responded and the N.J. State Police K-9 Team searched the shore line. The search was called off at approximately 12:15 a.m. and was resumed during the daylight.

Officers from North Brunswick Police Department and Rutgers Police Department had assisted in the search.  The East Brunswick EMS had also responded.
