Woman Finds Unknown Man Standing in Her Kitchen Early Wednesday Morning

Male suspect was standing in the kitchen at 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, but there did not appear to be any items missing from the home.

An East Brunswick woman awoke to a jarring sight early Wednesday morning, prompting police to alert residents to the suspicious incident.

At about 5 a.m. this morning, East Brunswick Police responded to the Taylor Avenue Apartments after a female resident awoke to find an unknown male standing in her kitchen. The woman screamed at the man before he fled from the apartment.

Police conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.

The woman said she had accidently left her back door unlocked, which police believe was how the suspect gained entry into the residence. There were no items taken or disturbed, according to police.

The suspect was described as being of Middle Eastern descent, of an age in his twenties, standing approximately 5-feet 8-inches, with an average build and dark hair. The man was wearing blue jeans and a white long-sleeve shirt.

Anyone who may have seen the suspect or with any information is asked to call Det. Jason Haykel of the East Brunswick Police Department’s Investigative Division at 732-390-6990.
