Sen. Kean’s internship program seeks to instill in its students the importance of commitment and dedication in the field of public service. The 2011 summer intern group was comprised of both high school and college students who sought to serve their community as well as experience the inner workings of New Jersey’s governmental process.

“Vladimir was an invaluable asset to my office this summer. Internships, I believe, act as a vital component of the education process. Our program engages students in a way the classroom cannot, providing them the opportunity to play an active role in state government,” Sen. Kean said.

Intern responsibilities included answering phone calls from constituents, compiling messages for the Senator and his staff, responding to correspondence, researching legislation, and attending meetings with the Senator.

“This internship was a stepping stone in order for me as an individual to grow and develop an understanding of what direction I will go for future success,” Prokopchuk continued.

Applicants interested in participating in the Senator’s summer internship program may send their resume and cover letter to senkean@njleg.org from Jan. 1, 2012 to March 15, 2012.
