Signs on Utility Poles, Fences and Trees Prohibited

Township workers will assist in removing signs for prohibited areas.

Township Administrator James White said Monday that township workers will assist in removing signs from fences, utility poles, trees, lights and elsewhere.

Signs advertising businesses, garage sales, charities and other items can frequently be found in these prohibited areas  all year and can present a danger if they are a distraction.

On Monday, White said placing signs on fences, utility poles, trees, lights and other signs is prohibited.

However, what council members really want is for people to remove the signs when done so they don’t present a hazard.

“What we really ask is, when the yard sale is over, please take the sign down," said White. “Signs for yard sales, technically, are illegal, but then again, it’s just a yard sale.”

Ferraro agreed.

“The thing that’s most annoying is that people don’t clean it up,” she said.
