College Students Move to the Head of the Class

Students from East Brunswick who are attending college garnered academic accolades for the fall 2011 semester.

The following East Brunswick students received academic honors for the fall semester for their respective colleges.

Kathleen Chace of East Brunswick, a member of the class of 2013, was named to Tufts University's Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester. Dean's List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

Elsa Chen, a member of the class of 2015 at Skidmore College, earned term honors for the fall semester. She is the daughter of Simon and Ling Chen of East Brunswick.

Term honors are awarded for a quality point ratio of 3.6 from a possible 4.0, for students who have completed 14 credit hours.

Krystal McConnell, a sophomore elementary education major and a resident of East Brunswick, was named to the fall 2011 undergraduate Dean's List at Rosemont College.

Alexandra Broehl, of East Brunswick was named to the fall 2011 Caldwell College Dean's List. In order to achieve this honor, students must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and complete at least 12 credits during the semester.

Ryan Michael Marosy, of East Brunswick, who is majoring in Environmental Natural Resources (Natural Resource and Economic Policy); and Daniel Lee Sullivan of East Brunswick, who is majoring in Psychology; were named to the Dean’s List for the 2011 fall semester at Clemson University.

Rachel Brotman and Jonathan Lee of East Brunswick were named to the fall 2011 Dean’s List at the University of Albany.

Heather Potkulski, of East Brunswick, earned Dean's List honors at Saint Joseph's University for the fall 2011 semester, Potkulski is majoring in Sports Marketing at the University. Students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or above, a B or greater in all their classes, and complete at least 15 credits to earn Dean's List status for a semester.

Brian Carney, of resident of East Brunswick, and a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan Campus, located in Teaneck and Hackensack, has been named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 Semester.

Carolyn Lindsay and Derrick Lindsay of East Brunswick qualified for the Honors List for the fall 2011 semester at Farleigh Dickinson University’s Metropolitan Campus.

Ashley Grabowski, Christina Larkin, Alec Levine, Ashley Lippin, Devin Massih of East Brunswick, were named to the Dean’s List at Farleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham Park for the fall 2011 semester.

Eric Wolf, son of Scott and Laurie Wolf of East Brunswick, a sophomore Sport Media major, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance for the fall 2011 semester.

Brooke Appelbaum, daughter of Gary and Gail Appelbaum of East Brunswick, a junior Television-Radio major, was named to the Dean's List at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications for the fall 2011 semester.

Daniel Montefusco, of East Brunswick, NJ, is a member of the Class of 2012 and is majoring in Business Administration/Emphasis: Finance. He was named to the Dean’s List at Marist College for the fall 2011 semester.

Kevin Gaertner, a senior marketing major from East Brunswick, was named to the fall semester Dean's List at Bryant University.

Nicole Becker, a senior Elementary Education major; Ilana Carduner, a senior Secondary Education major; Allison Clay, a senior Secondary Education major; Michael Gershon, a junior Accounting major; Keshia Hammond-Merriman, a junior Accounting major; Eric Lebovitch, a junior Accounting major; Megan Morell, a junior Accounting major; Laura Nicoletti, a freshman Elementary Education major; and Jennifer Schellenberg, a junior Elementary Education major, were named to the Dean’s List at Rider University for the fall 2011 semester.

Sarah Steier of East Brunswick, who is studying at Widener University in Chester, Pa., was named to the Deans' List for the Fall 2011 semester at Widener. The Deans' List recognizes full-time students who earned a grade point average of 3.50 and above for the semester.

Rachel Christensen of East Brunswick, a member of the class of 2015 at Washington and Lee University, has earned dean's list status for the recently ended fall term. Dean's list status at Washington and Lee represents a term grade-average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

Rebecca Hong of East Brunswick, has earned a degree in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Hong was among approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech's 241st commencement exercises.

Margaret Young Chao of East Brunswick was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Chao is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences. To qualify for the Dean's List in the College of Arts & Sciences, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.5 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.

Mallory Jayne Highstein of East Brunswick, was named to the Dean's List for the fall 2011 semester at Washington University in St. Louis. Highstein is a graduate of East Brunswick High School in East Brunswick, NJ, and is enrolled in the university's College of Arts & Sciences.
