EBHS Grads to Attend Air Force Academy

U.S. Rep. Rush Holt announces names of students attending U.S. Military Service Academies next year.

U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (NJ-12) announced the names of students from Middlesex County – including two from East Brunswick - who will attend the United States Military Service Academies beginning this fall.

“These students have demonstrated extraordinary leadership, intelligence, commitment to public service, and strength of character,” Holt said.  “It is an honor to recognize these accomplished young New Jerseyans, and I know they will serve America with distinction as academy students and military officers.”

Among those attending the U.S. Air Force Academy next year will be East Brunswick High School graduates Michael B. Spiotta and Thomas E. Spiotta, who also attended the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School. The two are sons of Lorraine Spiotta and Thomas E. Spiotta, Jr.

As a member of Congress, Holt may nominate highly qualified New Jersey students to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy.  The selection process is extremely competitive and considers each candidate’s academic accomplishments, physical training, leadership potential, extracurricular activities, and other proven abilities.  Graduates of the military academies are commissioned as officers in the U.S. military.

Here is a list of other students in the area and where they will attend.
