East Brunswick Green Living: Energy Efficiency "The Whole House Approach" with David Mayer

The East Brunswick Green Living Club, sponsored by the Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission, will hold its next meeting 7-9 p.m. Jan. 23 at the East Brunswick Public Library, Jean Walling Civic Center.

The topic will be Energy Efficiency: “The Whole House Approach”. Dave Mayer from General Heating and Cooling will discuss why energy conservation is an especially important issue today, how to reduce the carbon footprint in the home, available rebates, tax credits and loans, and do-it-yourself measures to reduce utility bills. Optional: Bring a copy of your recent energy bill. Refreshments will be served—bring your own mug.

The group is open to all East Brunswick residents and Friends of the East Brunswick Environmental Commission. Members will participate in activities that encourage green living. Meetings will include sourcing and sampling of locally grown and prepared foods, bread baking, canning demonstrations, gardening, trips to local gardens, and observing local wildlife and energy conservation. Activities suggested by club members are welcome. Reading and discussing related books with a green focus will be optional. Activities will guide members toward ideas about what to do at home and in the community to help green the environment. For more information, log on to www.friendsebec.com.
