Shop at Barnes and Noble at the Brunswick Square Mall on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and support the East Brunswick Education Foundation (EBEF). Barnes & Noble has something for everyone on your holiday shopping list. Students and staff will share favorite books, written works and other presentations throughout the day. Joanne Lipman, co-author of STRINGS ATTACHED One Tough Teacher and the Gift of Great Expectations will be appearing for a book reading from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Strings Attached is the story of the fiery East Brunswick teacher Jerry Kupchynsky --known as Mr. K --a Ukrainian-born taskmaster who yelled and stomped and screamed, and who drove his students harder than anyone had ever driven them before. Through sheer force of will, he made them better than they had any right to be. It wasn’t until years later that they realized how much they loved him for it. And at the end of his life, they gathered once more, traveling from every corner of the country and creating a symphony orchestra the size of the New York Philharmonic, to play one last concert together - this time for him.
