SEPTA Meeting Scheduled for Monday

East Brunswick Public School’s Special Education PTA (SEPTA) will meet on Monday, Jan. 30, at the .

Scheduled for  7:15 p.m., Alexandra Freer, founder of Key to Me Therapy, located in Bradley Beach, will be presenting the program Quirky Kids: How Sensory and Auditory Sensitivities Affect Behavior.

The session will introduce parents to two of the major systems involved in processing--the auditory system and the sensory system. The presentation will examine how misperception through these systems impact the way an individual understands and interacts with the world.

In addition, the program will provide parents with resources and suggestions for helping their child improve.

Freer is a Certified Professional Listening Therapist who has helped hundreds of individuals with auditory processing issues, learning difficulties, sensory processing issues and spectrum-related challenges improve their sensory and auditory processing. She has a 14 year-old son with Asperger’s Syndrome.
