Theater Season Hits East Brunswick Schools

Three performances are scheduled for the month of March.

Get bitten by the theater bug this month at East Brunswick Public Schools with three students plays scheduled to hit the stage.

The drama club at Churchill Junior High School will present "It's Greek to Me," a series of short plays, tonight, Thursday, March 28 and Friday, March 1. The performances will be held in the school cafeteria. 

The performance schedule is as follows, according to the district website:

  • "Phaeton and the Sun Chariot" will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28
  • "Orpheus and Eurydice" will be performed on Thursday, Feb. 28 and Friday, March 1. Both performances begin at 7 p.m.
  • "Eros and Psyche" will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday, March 1.

Tickets are $7, $5 for students and seniors. A pass for admittance to all shows is an additional $3.

East Brunswick High School will perform the classic musical "West Side Story" over two weekends: March 8-9 and March 15-16.

All performances begin at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12, $6 for students and seniors and can be ordered in advance here. Advance tickets must be ordered by March 1, according to the website.

Finally, the drama club at Hammarskjold Middle School will present "HONK! JR." on March 21-22 at the East Brunswick Performing Arts Center.

Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m.

The show is a retelling of the Hans Christian Andersen story "The Ugly Duckling," according to the website.

All tickets are $5.
