Is Lack of Time Your Excuse for Not Exercising?

Exercise and dieting go hand in hand. Let’s face it – you can lose weight without exercising, but how long will the weight stay off before you see the numbers on the scale rise again? If you want to lose weight and get healthy (and stay healthy), you need to make time to exercise. You have to learn how to fit it into your regular routine. We’re all busy, I know. But don’t use lack of time as an excuse to not exercise. Even on the busiest of all days you can still find time to do it.

Want to know how? Follow these tips:

#1 -Exercising does not mean setting aside three hours separately to go to the fitness studio or some fitness classes. You can combine many different kinds of exercise programs into your daily routine without being too inconvenienced. By parking in a further spot then you usually do or taking the stairs instead of the elevator you can easily fit in walking as a form of exercise.

#2 Find a place local to your job or home that offers a half hour workout program that works many muscles at once and also gives you a variety. A half hour of exercise can fit into anybody’s schedule. You can go during lunch or on your way home from work. These programs are fun and generally accompanied by music and the half an hour will pass faster this way than you think.

#3 If you are not too far away from work, why not walk or ride a bike to work? Whether it’s down the block or 1 mile away, it will all count. Also, having a little time to focus and clear your mind will help you though the rest of your day. Don’t want to walk back home? That’s ok. Ask around to see if someone’s willing to commute after work. Even just getting your exercise one way will benefit plenty.

#4 Most experts recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. If you cannot find 30 continuous minutes in a day, then split it up. Try doing 3 ten minute exercise snippets. For example: 10 minutes in the morning, at lunch, and after work might be the way you can achieve your goal or how about 2 15-minute snippets? Make it work for you!

Bottom line, make exercise effortless. This way you're more likely to stick with it and you won't find it as an inconvenience. You may actually start looking forward to doing it! Remember this is your time, necessary for you to achieve your goals. Tell people that you will help them later, now you have an important appointment...with yourself!
