East Brunswick Boys' Soccer Team Seeded No. 1 in Playoffs

Playoff matchups were announced this week. The playoffs begin on Monday and Tuesday.

The East Brunswick and South Brunswick High School boys’ soccer teams may end up facing off early in this year’s playoffs, according to brackets posted on nj.com.

East Brunswick earned the No. 1 seed in the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group 4 playoffs. The Bears (16-2-1) will host No. 16 North Brunswick when the playoffs get underway on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The Vikings (13-5-1) earned the No. 8 seed, and will host West Windsor-Plainsboro North in the first round.

The winners will play in the quarterfinals on Nov. 8.

The teams already played once this season, with East Brunswick scoring a 1-0 win over South Brunswick, thanks to a Kevin Walsh goal.

It would take a lot longer for the girls’ teams to meet, as they are seeded on opposite sides of the bracket.

East Brunswick (15-4-1) earned the No. 2 seed, and will open the playoffs on Monday, Nov. 4. The Bears host No. 15 Sayreville.

South Brunswick (13-5) is seeded eighth, and hosts No. 9 Manalapan in the first round.
