East Brunswick girls golf getting in the swing of things

Team has several returning players.

The East Brunswick High School girls golf team may be off to 0-2 start, but don't expect that win column to stay that way very long.

"East Brunswick has a bright outlook this year because we return five starters," East Brunswick Coach Mark Motusesky said.

The main returnee is Brooke Kuei, who is in her fourth year as East Brunswick's captain. Kuei is a two-time state qualifier.

Among the new players to the team are sophomores Rukhshana Sethna and Anabel Dayao. Freshmen trying to break onto the team are Juliana Evans, Alexa Maltby, Nicole Nodar,Giulia Reversi and Esha Tripathi.

"We have a close knit group of kids who really look forward to competing this year in the always tough Central Jersey League," Motusesky said.

East Brunswick is coming off a season in which it was 4-8 and placed fifth in the division. In his four years as coach, Motusesky is 24-28.

On April 6, East Brunswick was defeated by West Windsor North, 210-229. On April 7, East Brunswick was defeated by West Windsor South, 209-2224.

Because the way the schedule is set, the Bears are off until it hosts West Windsor South on April 27.

According to Motusesky, good days are ahead.

"We definitely look to improve on our record and compete for a GMC (Greater Middlesex Conference) team championship this year," Motusesky said.
