EB Spirit Win Jags Tournament

The girls squad is ranked No. 4 in the state.

The East Brunswick Spirit U14 girls won the Jags tournament Father’s Day weekend defeating 2010 State cup winner Bridgewater Force 3-2 in a penalty kick shootout after regulation and 2 OT periods.

In group play the Spirit defeated Randolph Explosion 5-1, tied Wayne Power 1-1, and shut out US Club 2011 NJ cup winner Kingsway United Pride 2-0 to advance to Sunday afternoons final. The Spirit closed out the spring season winning the Manalapan Memorial day, Jersey Shore Cup, and JAGS tournaments. The Spirit finished the season on a 12 game unbeaten streak with an overall record of 18 wins, 3 draws, and 4 losses. The team is ranked No. 14 in the state.

The Spirit team members are Alexandra Kalafor, Margaret Lee, Brittany Lutz, Katherine McCulley, Gabriella Merse, Emily Polinski, Samantha Potts, Sydney Rosa, Kaitlyn Roughan, Demi Rousseau, Stephanie Schwailik, Julia Simoes, Jessica Stapleton, Nicole Velez, Alyssa Kramer, and Virginia Cummings. The team is coached by Alicia Hall, Bob McCulley, and Ed Simoes.
