EBHS Names Three New Coaches

Mark Motusesky will coach boys' basketball, Keith Lane will coach girls basketball and Caitlyn LeBlon will be head cheerleading coach.

The Board of Education approved new coaches for cheerleading and boys and girls basketball earlier this month.

The new boys basketball head coach will be Mark Motusesky, the girls’ basketball coach will be Keith Lane, and the head cheerleading coach will be Caitlyn LeBlon.

Frank Noppenberger, Supervisor of Athletics and Physical Education, said Motuseky and Lane have a lot of similarities including, the fact that they both played basketball for him (Noppenberger), were both JV coaches under recently retired Bo Henning, and both were part of two GMC Championship teams. Both are physical education teachers in the district.

Motuseky is 1988 EBHS graduate and member of 1987 GMC championship squad. He graduated from the College of New Jersey in 1997 and was the assistant coach for North Brunswick when it won the GMC Championship in 1997. In East Brunswick, he coached the eighth grade girls' team in 1997-98 and 1998-99 and was the boys JV coach for the past 14 years, where he lead four JV Tournament Championship teams.

“Mark understands what it takes to run a successful boys basketball program.  He has the respect of his players and a comprehensive basketball I.Q. that will continue the excellent reputation our program,” said Noppenberger.

Lane is a 1980 EBHS graduate and a 1984 graduate of Lynchburg College. He has been a football coach at East Brunswick for 24 years and a JV Boys Basketball coach from 1989-2000. In addition, he coached eighth grade boys’ basketball for 13 seasons.

“Coach Lane will be successful because of his attention to detail and his emphasis on the fundamentals.  Keith will have high expectations for the girls and he is outstanding in building confidence in his players,” said Noppenberger.

LeBlon recently coached at Holy Family Academy, and at the College of New Jersey for the past three. Before that she cheered at Ramapo College for two years and at TCNJ for another two.

“Caitlyn will be an excellent addition to our athletic program and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the cheerleading team.  We are fortunate to have her join the department,” said Noppenberger.
