Olympian to visit Escrimeur Fencing Club East Brunswick

OLYMPIAN ATHLETES TO RUN FENCING CLINIC Hosted By Local Fencing Club Escrimeur On Monday, April 23, 2012The Fields Sports Complex, East Brunswick, NJ.                                                             Six medals in Beijing, the best results ever for the US Fencing Team! Top ranking US and world fencers Tim Morehouse and Daryl Homer will be the focus of a local fencing event. The entire community is invited to watch and learn about the mental and physical skills required to become a dazzling saber, foil or epee fencer.

 During the event on Monday, April 23, from 5 to 8 P.M. at Escrimeur Fencing Club, spectators may become the participants and will be able to ”touch blades” and “feel the thrill” of this ‘Original Extreme Sport” with nationally renowned saber fencer and Beijing Silver medalist Tim Morehouse and #2 nationally ranked saber fencer Daryl Homer. The club is providing the strips for a “Big Goals Hit Back” Instructional Saber Fencing Clinic for ages 8 through 20.  The goal of the event organizer,Escrimeur Fencing Club, Premier Member of USFA and its New Jersey Division, is to publicize fencing as a dynamic sport accessible to the general public.

 “Fencing is an exciting sport that anyone can start at any point in their lives. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the US, because the benefits of fencing, both mental and physical, are being recognized by educators and physical trainers alike as developing strategic thinking and selfconfidence.Fencing is also the safest combat sport. It is a game, fun and self-improvement!”says Leon Spector, head coach and owner Escrimeur Fencing Club.
