Red Hot EBHS Boys Soccer Moves to 7-0

Bears have outscored competition by a margin of 19-3 in seven games this year.

Just two years removed from a Central Jersey Group 4 Championship, the East Brunswick High School boys soccer team is looking to rebound this year after going 10-7-1 in 2012.

So far, the Bears are rebounding something fierce.

EBHS won its seventh straight game to start the season on Monday with a 4-0 win over previously undefeated South Plainfield (5-1-1), improving the Bears record to 7-0.

Adam Rosa scored two goals, while Alex Mora and Kevin Walsh chipped in the other two scores for the Bears. Contributing assists were Joshua Barkoff, Noah Levine, Anik Ray and Keysean Brant-Sharp. Goalie Dennis Kotenko made five saves for the shutout.

With 14 returning players, including All-GMC Red Division midfielders in Ray and Joey Gudzak, the Bears have absolutely dominated the opposition thus far, outscoring the competition by a combined score of 19-3 in all seven games.

Leading the way for the East Brunswick offense thus year has been Walsh (four goals, three assists), Gudzak (three goals), Ray (three assists), Rosa, (four goals), Mora (three goals) and Dominic Bohorquez (one goal, three assists) among others. 

The Bears will return to action on Thursday at home against South Brunswick High School at 4 p.m.
