Sanu Grabs First NFL Touchdown Catch

South Brunswick High School and Rutgers University alum Mohamed Sanu victimized the New York Giants for his first career touchdown reception.

Rutger's Mohamed Sanu, of Soutbh Brunswick, showed off his versatility earlier this season for the Cincinnati Bengals when he tossed a 73-yard touchdown pass out of the Wildcat formation.

However, the wide receiver had yet to log his first receiving touchdown when the Bengals took the field against the New York Giants on Sunday. But Sanu would show off the talents that made him a record setting receiver at Rutgers and a third round pick in April's NFL Draft by victimizing the reeling Giants for his first receiving touchdown as a pro.

After the Bengals took a 24-6 lead in the third quarter, Eli Manning was picked off by Nate Clements, who returned the ball 21 yards to the Giants 16-yard line.

After two running plays where BenJarvus Green-Ellis picked up six yards, the Bengals lined up at the Giants 10-yard line facing a third and four. Andy Dalton then found Sanu, who boxed out a Giants defender, and scored the touchdown giving the Bengals a 31-6 lead in an eventual 31-13 win.

Sanu has gotten off to a slow start as he learns the ropes in his rookie season. But after going without a catch in his first six games, Sanu has recorded at least two catches in three straight games. He now has 9 catches for 103 yards on the year with one touchdown.

"Mo brings a certain skill set to the table and he's by all accounts proven himself worthy of playing football," Bengals wide receivers coach James Urban told SBNation. "The game's not too big for him, I can tell you that much."
