UPDATED: The Next Generation of Soccer Stars

The 31st Annual Labor Day Tournament is set for this weekend.

With 167 girls and boys teams from around the state and beyond, the East Brunswick Soccer Club’s Labor Day Tournament promises to be a hit this weekend.

With games to be played at , , , ,  and at the , Saturday and Sunday promises to be a great chance for fans of the game to catch some of the areas best players.

EBSC President James Harmon said the tournament is a result of the hard work of it's directors.

"I think our tournament directors, Dom Mastro, Liz McSpiritt and Eric Miller did a tremendous job organizing this and getting as many teams as they did," he said. "I know they made an outstanding effort contacting teams throughout New Jersey and we have a great line up of teams from the state and the area."

Harmon said that with almost 170 teams, there will be 240 games played on 20 different fields. As well as local teams, some of the more elite teams also will be traveling to the tournament.

"Just the amount of work it takes to put to gether is almost unbelievable," said Harmon.

This year's tournament also has the added benefit of being a great day for families. at Dideriksen, there will be an inflatable bouncy ride, food, vendors and a visit from one of the New Jersey Red Bulls as well as their street team, and a player from the Womens Professional Soccer team Sky Blue FC.
